Before going into my final thoughts about the series, I thought I’d share some exciting news. There will be a new Death Note coming out in 2016. This one will be using the Six-Note rule that was found in the manga.
One interesting note is that L and Light will not be a part of this sequel. Instead, it will be their successors who have their DNA. And cyber terrorism will be a major theme in the movie. so I’m kind of interested in seeing what kind of story this will have. Ryuk will be back, so that’s good. The movie will also deal with cyber terrorism, which could be interesting.
With that out of the way, let’s talk about the 2015 live action drama that recently finished.
Why is it that even though I don’t really understanding what they’re saying and can only pick up a few words here and there, I have a big huge goofy grin on my face as I watched the trailer?
The live action movie for Ore Monogatari!! is set to open on October 31st in Japan.
The cast includes:
Ryohei Suzuki as Takeo Gōda
Mei Nagano as Rinko Yamato
Kentarō Sakaguchi as Makoto Sunakawa
Yasufumi Terawaki asYutaka Gōda (Takeo’s father)
Sawa Suzuki as Yuriko Gōda (Takeo’s mother)
Even though the movie seems to be covering quite a bit of the story, I’m sure that it will be good. I may be bias, since I’m a fan of the manga and anime, but I think it would be incredibly hard to mess up a story like this. The plot is already fantastic and the actors seem to fit their roles well, so this should a great film to watch.
The trailer for Kyoukai no Kanata Movie: I’ll Be Here was just released!
The movie has two parts. Kyoukai no Kanata Movie: I’ll Be Here – Kako-hen, which is set to release on March 15, is a recap of what happened on the show.
The second movie, Kyoukai no Kanata Movie: I’ll Be Here – Mirai-hen, which will be released a month later on April 25th, takes part a year after the events from the show and will be completely new and it’s also what we see from the trailer. It looks like Kuriyama has lost her memories, at least I think she did?
I’m excited, even though I’m not sure what this movie will do for the series. I just love me some Akihito, so it’s not like I can’t watch this.
A bit of old news, but here’s the trailer for the live action version of Assassination Classroom. Unfortunately, it’s not in English. When it gets translated, I’ll post it here, but all you really need to know is that there’s this creature that destroyed part of the moon (don’t question it) and is now a teacher. The class needs to kill him, or he’ll destroy the world. While trying to kill their teacher, they learn to respect him and become better students in the process.
From the trailer, you can tell that they’re covering quite a bit in this movie. Hopefully it’s not rushed, but I think it’s safe to say that I’m excited to see how this turns out. Not sure how I feel about Karasuma being played by Kippei Shiina. I don’t want to say why, because then I’ll feel bad but he’s not what I pictured at all.
The Live Action movie of Assassination Classroom will be released on March 21.
Name: Kamisama no Iu Toori (神さまの言うとおり) (As the Gods Will)
Synopsis: Shun Takahata (Sota Fukushi) is an ordinary high school student leading a boring life. His life long friend is Ichika Akimoto (Hirona Yamazaki).
One day, a teacher’s head explodes in class. Shun Takahata and his classmates are forced to play a game of death without knowing who, why or how.
Release Date: November 15, 2014
I really wasn’t expecting this. As someone who has read the manga (I feel like I’m saying this way too much here) I’m surprised that they’re making a movie about it. It’s very violent and there’s some sex too, so I wonder what’s going to be cut and what’s going to be left behind.
From the trailer, it looks like they’re covering quite a bit so maybe we won’t see much. I do like how there’s some humour here wasn’t lost in translation. Despite how horrible these games are, they do provide some troll worthy moments and I think it really shows.
Even though lots of people won’t like censored stuff, I found it nice that the blood looked like red marbles. They were red marbles, I think? It’s a nice touch and also falls in line with the games.
I think I’m going to like this quite a bit. And if it does well, then maybe another movie will come out based on Kamisama no Iu Toori 2? I hope so.
