Subete ga F ni Naru 0

Subete ga F ni Naru – Smoking Habits of Saikawa Souhei

So I’ve been watching Subete ga F ni Naru and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit. At first, I was a little iffy since it started off slow, but it’s been great so far.

I do have some suspicions as to what’s going on. I haven’t watched the live action (I’ll probably take a look after the anime is over), so I’m completely in the dark here, but I won’t mention it. Why? Because there’s an even bigger issue when it comes to Subete ga F ni Naru….

Peeping Life S1 (3)

First Impressions: Peeping Life TV: Season 1??

Woo! Fall Anime season is well underway and yesterday was my blogiversary. What better way to celebrate it then with a First Impression of a weird anime.

What I was expecting: Clearly I’ve been living under a rock, because I’ve never heard of the Peeping Life series before. So I did what any normal person would do in this situation, I looked up a previous season of it and checked it out first.

After watching a few episodes of Peeping Life – World History, I think I have two main expectations for this show. The first expectation is horrible animation. I mean really bad boxy weird arms and faces animation. The second expectation is a fun time, because even though this show deals with mundane things, it’s hilarious. I’m glad I checked out a previous season of this show, because it helped get me excited for what’s to come.

Teaser News: 「K」2nd Season Confirmed

K 2nd Season

It’s official, the second season of K will be released during the fall season later this year. There were a few mysteries that were left unsolved in the first season, so I’ll be looking forward to seeing the answers to some of my questions.

Plus, I absolutely loved the art style for this series. Everything from the animation to the colours to the cinematography was pure eye candy. K, the first season, was definitely one of the better looking animes of the 2012 season, unfortunately, while the animation was full of life the characters and plot were lacking.

It wasn’t a bad anime by if more effort was put into the story, then I think this would have been a lot better. I dunno, I feel like it had a lot of potential, but it was wasted due to its poor execution. It did look pretty though.

Anyways, you can check out the teaser below.

Original Work – GoRa x GoHands
Animation Production – GoHands
Director & Character Design – Shingo Suzuki

K 2nd Season will be out for the 2015 fall anime season.

Fall Anime Rundown part 2

Just like before, this will only mention shows that started and ended or ended in the fall season. Considering how easy it is for me to start an anime and never finish it, I think I did fairly well this season.

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken – my favourite anime couple

I wasn’t expecting much from this show, but it was really nice to watch. Even though it seems like every episode would center around Hajime’s otakuness and Kaoru’s inability to understand her husband, but it wasn’t. Instead, we got a show about a young couple who truly love each other and accept each other’s quirks. Maybe it’s because they’re older, but the show seemed more mature and thus less angsty and annoying.

Some episodes were confusing though, but I’m early anticipating the next season!

Karen Senki – best looking anime of the seasons, but it did have a bad beginning

I think this was the best looking anime of the fall season. Yes, it’s CGI, but wow it is CGI. There were times when the show was simply stunning to look at and what’s great is that the animation remained consistent. The first few episodes were horrible though. We had tons of action, but no real plot. Once the other characters showed up, the show seemed to have found its footing and got better. There were still a lot of questions that weren’t answered though.

Orenchi no Furo Jijou – I always have bath envy when I watch this

Another cute show that always made me smile. It was short, but it fully utilized its four minutes to always tell a coherent story. The characters were funny, the friendship between Tatsumi and Wakasa developed nicely, and I just enjoyed it. It’s refreshingly sweet with tons of bishies.

Fall Anime Rundown part 1

I’m just going to mention the shows that are not continuing on in the next season. So just shows that started and finished in the fall seasons, or finished in the fall season.

Amagi Brillant Park – stopped watching, but not sure why

I think I watched three-four episodes of this and then never went back to it again. I don’t think anything was wrong with it, but it didn’t really do anything for me. Maybe I’ll get back to it and finish it one of these days, but for now it’s on hold.

Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai – Will eventually finish it

I watched until episode seven and while I was interested in the mystery aspect, I never got around to finishing this anime. Whenever I’d see a new episode, I’d acknowledge it but then do something else. I do only have a few episodes left though, so I’ll probably finish this within the next few days and then update my thoughts on it.

Denki-Gai no Honya-san – DNF

I thought I’d like this one a lot, especially since the characters are an eccentric bunch that work at a manga shop, but didn’t like this at all. Some parts are funny, but a lot of the jokes seemed forced.

Donten ni Warau – Now that it’s done, I guess it’s time to watch it

I still haven’t seen this one yet, mainly because I didn’t want to wait a week to see what happened next. Now that it’s done, it’s time to buckle down and watch it. I’m looking forward to it. Will update this once I’ve finished watching everything.

Gugure! Kokkuri-san – top pick of the fall season

Definitely part of my top three fall anime shows. I love that it doesn’t take itself so seriously and the characters were always fun to watch. Plus, I’ve developed such a crush on Shigaraki. He may be an alcoholic deadbeat, but he’s awesome. I kind of wish we got to see more of Tengu, since he was shown in the promotional photo, but considering how he’s a proud pedo I guess it’s okay that they confined him into such a small role.

Loved this show though. It hit all the right notes and I was never disappointed. If only there were more episodes!

Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de – the synopsis and promo picture lied to me

Here’s my problem with this show. If the synopsis and promo picture didn’t emphasis the superpower aspect of the show, I think I might have enjoyed this more. But they did, and so I kept expecting something awesome and it never really happened. In the end, it was just your generic run of the mill club room slice of life show. The powers that they got served no purpose, so much so that if you removed it from the plot only two, maybe three episodes would take a hit. Plus, my favourite girl got pushed to the side when she seemed like someone with huge potential. The harem takeover was a bit much, but I did enjoy it enough to finish it. Hatoko’s freak out is definitely a must watch though.

Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu. – a parody show that understands that it’s a parody show

A parody show about fetishes. I shouldn’t like it and yet I did, even when the animation took a nose dive for episodes 8 and 9. The show doesn’t take itself seriously and some of the moments are just too silly that I can’t help but like it. The fact that Souji had a conversation with his twintail, who sounds like an old man, and regained his confidence after that pep talk was hilarious. It’s a fun show, as long as you don’t think too hard about it.

Psycho-Pass 2 – a disappointing sequel

As a standalone series, it was fine. But as a sequel, it fails to live up to its potential. By the time I finished this I was left feeling disappointed. I think the problem here is that a lot of the stuff that was established in the first seasons gets thrown out the window for reasons unknown. The Sybil system always had its issues, we knew that from when it failed to kill Makishima, but at least it was rational. For the most part. Here, it just seemed overly evil just to prove Kamui’s point. Only, what was his point exactly?

It doesn’t matter anymore, since the ending did a hard reset just in time for the movie release. Hopefully Gin actually has something to do there, because he did nothing here. There was one moment that I did find it funny. In the last episode Akane said, “You’re under arrest” to two people and they both ended up dying.

Selector Spread WIXOSS – a great addition to the series

Fantastic! This is what a sequel should be like. There are some plot holes, but I still loved every moment of this show.

Sword Art Online II – GGO, good. Calibur, meh. Mother’s Rosario, needed more episodes

I quite liked GGO and the character of Sinon. The idea of players from SAO’s murder guild coming back and killing people in real life actually makes a lot of sense. It does say something that they never got therapy, but what can you do. The Calibur arc was okay. Mother’s Rosario could have been better. Some of it was good, but some of it really needed more episodes to develop its story. After complaining that she got shafted since the second arc of the series, I was glad that Asuna actually had her own storyline.

Terra Formars – the manga is good

I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. The manga is so good, so when I heard that this would get an anime I was all for it. Only, the studio decided to focus more on action than the characters and plot. The Adolf arc was the turning point though and it was brilliant. Even though the animation took a hit, the emotions and story that Adolf shared was great to watch. The last episode was lazy though. Overall, it was just okay. Definitely read the manga though. It is amazing!

Orenchi no Furo Jijou episode 13 – Friends

Orenchi no Furo Jijou (1)

Wakasa watches a show where an okama complains that whenever he comes home from work, his roommate/boyfriend is there eating snacks and watching TV. It’s through this program that Wakasa learns something shocking. He’s a mooch.

I find it hilarious that he’s watching a show like this. The shounen-ai vibes are heavy once again, plus it’s funny that the only female that we’ve seen so far is Tatsumi’s little sister.

Anyways, Wakasa tries to look for work. The only thing he can write is that he has twenty years of being a merman as experience. It’s hopeless. So Tatsumi suggests that he send in postcards to try to win prizes.

Orenchi no Furo Jijou (2)

Even though Wakasa reads a lot, he can’t write. Thankfully, Tatsumi is here to help him and within two hours Wakasa is able to do it all himself.

He’s still worried about being a mooch though, but Tatsumi reassures him that he’s letting a freeloader stay with him because that’s what he wants. And anyways, this would make them friends, so it’s okay. Sometime later, Wakasa wins a prize and gives it to Tatsumi.

He wanted meat, but at least this gift makes Tatsumi happy.

Orenchi no Furo Jijou (3)

The episode ends with a new year’s greeting and all of Wakasa’s friends showing up at Tatsumi’s place.

Another cute episode. The think that I like about Orenchi no Furo Jijou is that even though it’s a four minute anime, it knows how to utilize it’s short time and tell a coherent story. And by the end of every episode I always left feeling satisfied.

I’m going to miss this anime. It may not have been the greatest thing and definitely not in my top fall anime list, but it’s refreshing, it’s relaxing and it always left me with a smile on my face. I’m glad I watched this.

Bonjour♪Koiaji Pâtisserie episode 12 – Vacation is over, so let’s go Hiking!

After all that fun in the sun, it’s now back to school. The episode starts with Mitsuki teaching them about the history of confections and how everyone needs to be more creative. Class ends, with no food being shown, and the everyone gathers around Ryou to ask him about his arm.

Bonjour Sweet Love Patisserie (1)

Random thing, but it seems like Ryou can’t talk with both of his eyes open. In factEven though nothing has been said, it looks like there’s a strain between Ryou and Sayuri. When someone asked him if it was true that he got hurt protecting a girl from the class Ryou just denied it. Even if they were on good terms, I think he’d still deny it because that’s just his personality type, but Sayuri looks sad and very much on the outside of his circle.

Mitsuki-sensei notices the change in Sayuri so he suggests they go out hiking. He says it’s to get inspiration for new treats, but everyone was already on vacation so I think we all know what he’s really after……inspiration for his treats. And maybe he’s also trying to bridge the gap between Ryou and Sayuri too. For a show about pastries and baking, they hardly spend any time in the classroom actually learning about it do they?

Even in their outing, Gilbert-sensei suggests that they have a photography competition when they’re supposed to be gaining some material for their sweets. I should be annoyed that this is another episode with no food, but I also love photography so I’m okay with this.

Mitsuki-sensei and Suzumi-sensei do a good job with it, while Gil-sensei took a lot of weird pictures with some of them being under exposed. As long as he’s having fun though. The last photo we see is if the class bully who ends up with the most interesting shot since a ghost seems to be featured in it.

Overall, this was a lighthearted episode but I’m still missing my food porn. I do hope that Ryou and Sayuri are able to make up, since he’s funny when he’s in love. I will say that it’s nice that Sayuri wasn’t with a guy and instead spent time with Ran, her best friend.

No guy being featured meant no love line and no advancement in their relationship with Sayuri. After everything she’s been through and the mess with Ryou, she needs some time alone so being outdoors and hiking is a nice change of pace for her. I guess Mitsuki-sensei’s plan worked and it didn’t even involve any illegal sexual relations.

Last week I made a cupcake cookie and this week I made some pudding. The inspiration for this pudding came from a youtube channel I’m subscribed too. It’s called Dark-Chocolate and Avocado Pudding and it’s super easy to make and healthy too.

pudding

I didn’t follow the recipe exactly, since I added some milk to lighten it up but it’s still good. Sorry for the bad picture, I used my phone.

Not sure if I’ll make another sweet dish next week, mainly because I have no idea what to make. We’ll see though.

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken episode 13 – The End is Only Just the Beginning

First off, congrats to Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken for getting a second season!

second season

Hajime lets us in on why the endings of slice of life animes are always so bittersweet. Sure you could move on to the next anime that comes along your path, but if you’re invested with the characters then you want to know what happens next. Only…only you’ll never know. Because the anime is over.

Good thing Danna is getting another season so I don’t have to worry about that.

After raising a flag with a friend, Hajime heads home to find a tired Kaoru. She hasn’t been feeling well and is feeling very nauseous. Her mood has been brighter and the moment she hit the bed she fell asleep. That could only mean one thing. She’s pregnant.

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken (2)

Danna, we’ve already went through this. Kaoru was feeling this way and her doctor made it seem like she was pregnant. Then nothing happened. Just because this is the final episode of the season and something needs to happen, since it’s a slice of life anime, doesn’t mean you can pull the same trick twice.

If she is pregnant, then she better be pregnant. I know that makes no sense, but it did in my head.

He heads out to buy a pregnancy testing kit and everyone seems to have found out that Kaoru might be pregnant so they send him some warm wishes. Even Kaoru’s father, who looked like he was about to kill Hajime the last time this happened. Back home, Kaoru pees on the stick and will the show troll us again?

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken (3)

Nope, because it actually looks like she’s pregnant.

Because it was announced that this was getting a second season I don’t feel that emptiness void that I would have felt. I want to see a pregnant Kaoru and how the parents interact with their kid.

Orenchi no Furo Jijou episode 12 – Almost dying because you’re alone…

Orenchi no Furo Jijou (1)

Wakasa is home alone and keeps hearing noises. Tatsumi isn’t around though, so his mind keeps thinking up the worse possible situation. Did Tatsumi run away? Did he suffer from a terrible accident? Was he abducted by UMA? All of these thoughts keep swimming around Wakasa’s head. Turns out that Tatsumi just said that he was going to be running late and even left some extra food out in case our little merman got hungry.

Only…only Wakasa ate everything already. He tries to call him, but he doesn’t know how to use a phone. He actually makes it outside of the bathroom, but now he’s drying up. If only Tatsumi would come around and help him out.

He came and he helped out and the Shounen-ai vibes are super heavy when they both talk to each other at the end of the episode. It’s kind of funny that Wakasa was so terrified of being alone that he almost died, because of it. That’s not even an exaggeration. If Tatsumi didn’t show up, Wakasa would be dead. Then Tatsumi would have to deal with a dead merman and a sticky floor.

Orenchi no Furo Jijou (2)

Things worked out in the end though, so that’s good. It did kind of feel like it was the final episode. There’s one more left, but I wonder what they’re going to do with it. Will a new character come or will the episode be about Wakasa and Tatsumi?

Gugure! Kokkuri-san episode 12 – I wish there was more GuguKoku

Gugure! Kokkuri-san (1)

It’s Christmas Eve and Kohina is out to buy a present, party bucket of chicken, for Kokkuri-san and then leave. While on her way to get the chicken, she sees a radio controlled ramen cup. It’s tempting, but both her angel and devil side tell her to buy it. They just disagree on whether she should lie about losing her wallet or not.

Ramen cups go hand in hand with Kohina. That and attracting weirdoes which is what she does once again. This one seems human though and in a really creepy way asks if he can buy the ramen cup for her so that they can go somewhere together. Pedophilia isn’t funny, but I did laugh at this scene. That guy was so creepy though, not only with how he said it, but the heavy breathing as he called Kohina cute.

Kokkuri-san shows up to save Kohina from him, because he’s a stalker and was watching her from the shadows. Seems like the crisis is averted and we’ll get a fun Christmas episode now with the rest of the gang.
