Jigoku Shoujo: Yoi no Togi is leaving me conflicted

Once upon a time and by time I mean a couple of weeks ago, MAL informed me that Jigoku Shoujo was coming out with its fourth season. I immediately added it to my ‘Plan to Watch’ list, but before that I only had one thought in my head.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love Jikogu Shoujo/Hell Girl. The premise, while repetitive at times, is right up my alley. You take ordinary people who are feeling stuck with their hate, anger and despair and instead of dealing with it in a rational way, they decide to go the easy route and call up Enma Ai.

While one may say, “Why would people do that?” I would counter with, “Why wouldn’t people do that?” I mean, as humans we are always looking for the easy way out. Just look at all of the fad diets out there and the many people who fall for them, hoping that it will be a quick weight loss miracle. It isn’t though. And even if it was, then it wouldn’t be healthy. For most people, losing weight takes time, effort and hard work. Just like everything else in life.

The idea that people could call up Hell Girl to solve their problems, even though it means that you’ll face torment in the next life is a fantastic idea and one that I absolutely adore. If that’s not enough, Jigoku Shoujo is one of the few animes that takes what is already a great idea and turns it into something wonderful in its second season.

So a fourth season should make me happy, because I clearly love the series, and while it does…in a way, it also makes me nervous, worried, hesitant, and cautious about it. Why? It’s pretty much because of the third season.

Final Thoughts: Live Action Death Note 2015

Before going into my final thoughts about the series, I thought I’d share some exciting news. There will be a new Death Note coming out in 2016. This one will be using the Six-Note rule that was found in the manga.

One interesting note is that L and Light will not be a part of this sequel. Instead, it will be their successors who have their DNA. And cyber terrorism will be a major theme in the movie. so I’m kind of interested in seeing what kind of story this will have. Ryuk will be back, so that’s good. The movie will also deal with cyber terrorism, which could be interesting.

With that out of the way, let’s talk about the 2015 live action drama that recently finished.

Trailer: Ore Monogatari!! Live Action Movie

Why is it that even though I don’t really understanding what they’re saying and can only pick up a few words here and there, I have a big huge goofy grin on my face as I watched the trailer?

The live action movie for Ore Monogatari!! is set to open on October 31st in Japan.

The cast includes:

Ryohei Suzuki as Takeo Gōda
Mei Nagano as Rinko Yamato
Kentarō Sakaguchi as Makoto Sunakawa
Yasufumi Terawaki asYutaka Gōda (Takeo’s father)
Sawa Suzuki as Yuriko Gōda (Takeo’s mother)

Even though the movie seems to be covering quite a bit of the story, I’m sure that it will be good. I may be bias, since I’m a fan of the manga and anime, but I think it would be incredibly hard to mess up a story like this. The plot is already fantastic and the actors seem to fit their roles well, so this should a great film to watch.

I want to watch it now. I want to watch it now.

I want to watch it now!!

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE! is getting a second season!!

Considering how everything ended last time, I’m not really sure how this would work. Then again, I don’t really care, because I loved this show.

Seriously though, what will they include for the second season since everything ended on a good note and every storyline was wrapped up. I’ll still watch it, because the show is funny, but other than finding out who Ryuu was talking to (probably his mother) I don’t know what else they have to show.

Oh well, like I said I’ll still watch it!

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE! 2nd Season only just got announced, so I’m not sure when it will actually start airing. Just know that the love making boys are will be back soon!

Trailer: Heroine Shikkaku – Live Action Movie

The manga is frustrating to read, but it does live up to its name so I can’t fault it. It’s annoying, but it’s still so much fun to read. I could go on a rant, because the last few chapters of this manga….I was ready to give a good punch to the two main characters, but after I calmed down I realized that from the very beginning they weren’t your typical shoujo characters. Hatori, isn’t a heroine. She’s a failure, in terms of shoujo.

Once I remembered that, I realized that the ending was perfect for this series. It’s still incredibly annoying, because the two main characters are insufferable and they do kind of deserve a kick and a punch, but for the most part I enjoyed the series. Finding out that a movie is coming out is actually kind of exciting. Judging from what I saw from this one, it does seem to cover quite a bit from the manga, so hopefully it doesn’t feel too rushed.

Heroine Shikkaku (Failure of a Heroine) is set to release on September 19, 2015.

PV: Shishō (Master Teacher)

According to ANN, Shisho, a 2chan novel series by Uni, is getting an anime, a drama, and a live action movie. Wow. Congrats and Wow!

The Shishō (Master Teacher) series, a series of supernatural novels posted on the internet forum 2channel (2chan) by author Uni is inspiring a live-action film, live-action drama, and TV anime series in 2016 as part of a larger project. The live-action film will be a hybrid of both live-action and anime.

The story of the original novels revolves around a protagonist (played by Takasugi in the project) who experiences various spiritual encounters due to his upperclassman at his college’s club, the “master teacher” in the series title that has spiritual sensitivity.

I’m not too familiar with this series, but it definitely sounds right up my alley! After watching the promotional video, I really want to watch/read this now. It looks positively creepy!

Can’t wait!

Gackt, you glorious….bed sheet!

Back when I was doing recaps for Time Spiral, a jdrama not worth watching by the by, was on I mentioned that Gackt had an amazing body pillow out. It was a limited edition zipper pillow that the guys over at Magic Mike need to get on, because I have a feeling like there’s a market for that.

It still makes me laugh.

What can top this body pillow? Well, I thought nothing could, but then I took a trip to AsianJunkie and it had something amazing.

gackt bedcase

That’s right. A Gackt bed sheet, which I’m assuming would go great with a Gackt body pillow.

And it can be yours, all you have to do is visit the Gackt store and for 12,500 yen (about $105 US or $130 CDN) you can have your very own Gackt bed sheet. This still seems weird to me, but I can’t deny the fact that Gackt knows what his fans want and is more than willing to give it to them.

But this got me thinking, say you are a fan of someone or something, is there anything that you would buy that others may find ridiculous? If you haven’t, would you ever buy something that seems out of the norm?

Norm is subjective, of course, but I don’t know if I would. Not that I’m ashamed of what I like it’s just that everything that I’m a fan of is too expensive for me to buy. Even if I can afford it, it’s a matter of principle. Why pay close to 100 dollars for a figurine when I can buy two games and get one for free during a sale? That’s the sort of mentality that I have…..I don’t really buy things…all…that much…

I did buy Hatoful Boyfriend, which I love by the way. I guess in my circle of friends that would be deemed ‘gross’ as they’d be wondering why I would try to get a pigeon boyfriend when I can just get married instead. Hahahaha. They don’t understand the beauty that is Hatoful Boyfriend though. It’s their loss.

Anyways, the bed sheets may not be as amazing as the pillow, but they definitely make a great addition to the Gackt marketplace. If it was anyone else selling this I’d side eye them, but not Gackt.

First Look: Yamato (Matt) and Gabumon from Digimon Adventure Tri.

Last month, we saw how Taichi and Agumon would look like. Now it’s time for Yamato/Matt and Gabumon.

yamato/matt gabumonGabumon looks fine, but Yamato (it’s going to be weird saying that instead of Matt) looks very different. That’s to be expected and I don’t want to keep saying, “These new designs, am I ever going to get use to them.” So I won’t…..but I kind of do need to get use to them xD

At least with Taichi, he had his famous big hair. Yamato cut it all off, so the change is even more pronounced.

Trailer: Kyoukai no Kanata Movie: I’ll Be Here + key visual

Kyoukai no Kanata Movie I'll Be Here

The trailer for Kyoukai no Kanata Movie: I’ll Be Here was just released!

The movie has two parts. Kyoukai no Kanata Movie: I’ll Be Here – Kako-hen, which is set to release on March 15, is a recap of what happened on the show.

The second movie, Kyoukai no Kanata Movie: I’ll Be Here – Mirai-hen, which will be released a month later on April 25th, takes part a year after the events from the show and will be completely new and it’s also what we see from the trailer. It looks like Kuriyama has lost her memories, at least I think she did?

I’m excited, even though I’m not sure what this movie will do for the series. I just love me some Akihito, so it’s not like I can’t watch this.

Here’s a new key visual as well
