Sayuri goes out with Ryou (as friends) so she can help him pick something out for his “little sister.” He casually tries to ask her if she has anything planned for later, because it’s the Christmas holidays and he still has the feels for her. They just finished their golden week and now it’s Christmas. What happened to school?
There are a lot of winks in this anime and kind of weird to look at sometimes. I like Ryou, but this wink lasted a long time and he even said a few sentences too. Without. Blinking
This actually happens quite a bit on the show, but it’s always weir to me. If I was into conspiracy theories I might have a few choice words here, but I mainly read them for the fun and not for the factual knowledge so I can’t really say anything other than it looks weird when it’s overdone.
Anyways, back to the show. Ryou thanks Sayuri for helping him because his little sister surprisingly has a lot of similar tastes to the girl of his dreams. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. He’s so obvious, it’s cute. But this is Ryou and he always has a series of unfortunate interruptions so I don’t see this going well.
They head out to eat, but everywhere is booked. Strike One!
They go to a bench to eat some Italian buns, but since it’s snowing, and winter, Sayuri gets cold. Strike Two!
Ryou takes off his jacket and places it gently over Sayuri’s shoulders. He then works up the courage to start confessing, only a snowball hits his face. A snowball…that Gil-sensei threw at him. Strike Three and he’s out!
Ryou, your winking may be weird but I’ll never not love these series of unfortunate interruptions. It’s one of my favourite things about you. Poor guy though, he’s been planning this big Christmas Eve strategy for two weeks. Then again, if he planned properly then he should have anticipated the bishie teachers stopping him at the moment of truth.
The reason he was stopped, because he got the jump before the teachers could and Sayuri is their precious student…..these bishies senseis. I think at this point, we all know why the school rules are in place and why the head teacher is so paranoid.
It seems like Sayuri/Ryou are end game, but there’s still eight episodes left so we have any closure to this reverse harem quite yet….even though Suzumi-sensei (who I’ve taken quite the liking to) isn’t even in the running after his disastrous date with Sayuri.
Overall, the episode went pretty much the way I expected. Predictable, but still enjoyable.
