Kokkuri-san is back to being a male and Shigaraki is back to being an alcoholic. I should be happy about this….I should be happy….
Even if I’m conflicted about this, Kokkuri-san seems to be thrilled at being a man again. He’s so happy that his hair starts to fall out due to over excitement. I’m kidding, it’s because he’s old and stressed about everything.
Poor Kokkuri-san, he should be overjoyed about how his life has gone back to normal but all it did was mask his old problems. His hair is falling in break neck speeds and isn’t showing any signs of slowing. He’s always worried, so the stress is making his hair fall out. But since it’s falling out, he’s just stressing even more.
He can’t even sleep properly because of the sad state of his hair and his mental state caused him to bury Inugami and beat up Tanuki-san. Surprisingly, this is all normal behaviour. Not because it’s Kokkuri-san and this is how he usually behaves, but because he goes through this every year during the seasonal shedding time.
He’s cute as a giant furball though. I may miss him being female, but this is quite nice too. It doesn’t last long though, because the others decide to do some shaving and Kokkuri-san ends up looking like a skinless chihuahua.
The latter half of the episode deals with Inugami trying to deepen his relationship with Kohina. It doesn’t work out that well though and when he says “I love you” to her, she’s too absorbed with her thoughts that she doesn’t even hear him. She’s thinking of Cup Noodles in case you were wondering.
Since pushing her isn’t working, he tries to run away much like how Kokkuri-san did in the first episode. Only, he hides in the yard and waits for her to notice. She doesn’t. And now Inugami is starting to wonder if anyone ever cared about him and if he was just a trespasser in the house.
It’s all really depressing and you kind of feel bad for the little guy. Thankfully, someone shows up and shows him just how important he really is. It may not have been what he wanted and caused him to run away for real, but it’s the thought that counts right?
I’m sure he’s fine now though.
Even when everyone else leaves you, Shigaraki will always be there. He’s still weird, and a alcoholic and a bit of a pervert too, but I think he’s my new anime crush.
At this point, I feel like I’m being redundant by what I say after every episode of Gugure! Kokkuri-san. I’m just going to say things like, it was a great episode, and it was. And that I loved every moment of it, which I did. Gugure! Kokkuri-san knows what kind of show it is and remains consistent with its entertainment value.
I do wonder when we’re going to meet that crow fellow from the intro and how big of a role they’re going to have.
